Updates: CD progress, FREE comp, new material, etc.

So, as you may have guessed from the previous post and the name change, things are going on. I was trying to keep that post up on the site for a little while so people could catch up with what’s going on, but now, hopefully, we should update this thing fairly regularly.

First off, the FREE downloadable compilation, “New Noise (Heavy)”, has been released via the No Sleep Records website. Click on this nifty banner and go get 17 songs from some awesome bands you have and have’nt heard of for FREE. We’ve included “Sweet Ink, Brah” on that, so go get it.

Our 5-song EP “Kolalacaust” has been recorded for some time, but we’ve taken our time putting out as we wanted to make sure we did’nt miss any oppurtunities…ultimatley, we decided it was best and safest for ourselves to put this out on an independant level. Basically, if we’re going to work with a label, we want to make sure they truly enjoy and want the best for our band and we were’nt feeling a whole lot of that. Anyways, this basically means we want to get the fully pressed CD out early in the summer, so I, Scott, am trying to iron out a plan for release as well as get all the CD artwork done in the next couple of weeks. I think I’ve finally committed to a theme and look for the art and dove into it pretty deeply last night, so hopefully I don’t hit many snags and can hammer this out. Hopefully everyone will get a kick out of it. As things get figured out, I’ll post some more info on what’s going on.

As we’ve been trying to figure everything out, we’ve continued writing new music and i think its safe to say we could’nt be more excited about it. We’ve completed 3 songs already and are working on more every time we get a chance. Once we gather a good chunk of music, we plan to start work on our first full length recording….hopefully with the assistance of Mr. Matt Buckley again.

Speaking of Mr. Buckley, he just finished Silence At Daybreak’s CD and it sounds incredible. I got to go in and so some guest vocals on one of the songs and loved what i was hearing. They’ll be releasing that July 18th, and we’ll be celebrating that with them. Check our myspace for details.

If you missed the info a while back, our old EP (as Prevail), “Pandamonium!”, is on sale at Siren Records in Doylestown. If we somehow have’nt conned you into buying this over the past couple of years, you should go pick it up there so we have more money to do newer awesome stuff.

We’ve transferred our myspace URL from myspace.com/prevailpa to www.myspace.com/ancestor.
You should spread the word or check things out or whatever. We’ve got a bunch of shows up there for May and beyond and will hopefully be adding more soon. We hope to have at least one, if not 2, shirt designs available soon. One likely shirt can be seen in our pictures there.

I’ll be adding more to the site when I’ve got time, obviously, I’ve got lots of work to do everywhere else, too.
Also, I’ve got “Rock Band” on my 360 now and it’s too awesome.
