Updates…Don’t become Stingy Jack.

We live. (I know, right!?)

I haven’t messed with this thing for a while. I apologize. It should change starting now-ish, if only with my rambling (…believe it or not, this is the short version of what I could post).
What most of us had hoped would be a productive summer was plagued with scheduling conflicts, bad luck, and life crapping on most of us at some point or another (or the whole time). Besides all of that, Mike moved an hour further away, Evan left the country a lot, and a handful of other distractions cropped up. Generally, we’re used to being dealt a rough hand, if you could call it that (it usually resembles something more like a flipper),…so i guess its nothing new. We were hexed by a voodoo witch or something. I apologize to those of you who actually try to keep up with us, we know its sometimes difficult when we stop telling anyone anything or seem very erratic due to the constant flux (SEE WHAT I DID THERE!?) in our lives. I really hope we get better at that, and hopefully the rest of the band helps me see to that. Just yell at me if you’re wondering anything.

So what the hell is going on…lets see (click the link to see the rest of the post!)
- We’ve continued writing new material and recently began recording some rough live takes of songs at practice. Its our first time experimenting with that kind of stuff, but if we get some good takes next week, maybe we’ll post something for you to hear. We don’t have any clue when we’ll properly record again, we’d really like to get enough together for a full length CD, but if we have the opportunity to do a 7-inch or something before that, i’m sure we would.

- Shows have been sparse, mostly due to our own schedules…though we did randomly end up playing one with 3 hours notice last week, haha. Trevor has been instructing the drum-line at WHS again on top of all else thats been going on, but we’re thinking our schedules will free up mid-November. Problem then is that there are hardly venues in the area these days, but hopefully we’ll find some new ones, or some basements or something (your basement? yes.). We’ll see. Either way, you should see us at UTG’s last show, which should be announced shortly. Should be at the Ark.

“Koalacaust” is still coming out on Mercygiver records…look for an update on that in the next couple of weeks. Really. or just bribe me. Until then, get “Sweet Ink, Brah” for free on that No Sleep comp 2 posts down.

- I recorded some vocals on a new Cetus song, but they’re Cetus, so that could take longer than we do. It’s freakin’ incredible though and i’m beyond honored to be a part of it. I want everyone to hear it.

- A new band with Dan (us, UTG) , Jared (UTG), Chris (SAD), and Dave (George Mason) recently got started. Look for stuff on them soon, sounds pretty awesome so far. Think Cursed with a touch of old Refused, then change your pants.

I hope you’re registered to vote and not an idiot.
Either way we’re screwed.
I mean…yay.

Any other questions, or if you’re just bored, leave a message here, on our myspace, on our last.fm, or anywhere else I’ll see. Let me know if i should update this with senseless babble more often. Thinkin’ yeah.

Recommended listening: Cursed (all of it), Debtor “Deliverance”, Early Graves “We: The Guillotine”, Spitfire “Cult Fiction”, Narrows 7-inch, The Wonder Years “Won’t Be Pathetic Forever”, All Parallels “Solitude”, Far “Water & Solutions”, Kenna (any), Dio -”Holy Diver” on repeat while singing really loud and driving.

Recommended HALLOWEEN viewing part 1- the damn obvious:”Re-Animator”, “Evil Dead 2″, “American Werewolf In London”, “The Thing”, “Candyman”, “Dead Alive”…i’ll stop there before this gets out of hand.
Recommended HALLOWEEN viewing part 2- the often over-looked: “Demons”, “In The Mouth Of Madness”, “Jacob’s Ladder”, “Ravenous”, “Feast” (2 just came out, disappointing),…i don’t know, go look.

Enjoy Halloween.

Inform of us of any holiday-related awesomeness we aren’t currently aware of.
More on everything soon.
- Scott.
